Carrying out observations? Or drawing conclusions from observations of others?

DZIGA VERTOV

I came up with something special for the annual Austrian Film Festival („Welser Filmtage“): A film in the form of a book that would be available at movie box offices. I aimed at stimulating others to specifically think about the cinema, the films shown on movie screens, and (maybe the actual motion picture) their own, inner film. They could read the book in cafés, parks, or their own rooms. It consists of eighty written quotes of famous or not so famous artists and philosophers. I arranged them in an order that would let attentive readers see a film emerge in their minds, the content of which would solely depend on the way they would relate to texts and attach visual meaning to them.
